# How to apply SES sandbox access

FinnGen SES Sandbox is a separate Sandbox environment for accessing socio-economic data of FinnGen study subjects. The data contains the following information obtained from the [Statistics Finland](https://www.stat.fi/org/index_en.html): level of education, field of education, occupation and socio-economic status.

The data license specifies that the data may not be processed outside Finland, and thus access to this data can be applied only by researchers residing permanently in Finland.

Please apply for the access to the SES-Sandbox containing the socio-economic FinnGen data using the FinnGen account online form at: <https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/97654/lomake.html>. Apply for the red access and justify the need for access to the SES-Sandbox. The SES-data can only be accessed by researchers in Finland.

FinnGen sends an application to Statistics Finland to add new researchers 4 times a year: 1 March, 1 June, 1 September and 1 December. In addition, the applicant has to sign a separate confidential disclosure agreement for the Statistics Finland authority as part of the application process.
