# Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) SNOMED codes data

FinnGen IBD Task Force Snomed data contains pathology biopsy related Snomed diagnosis codes from IBD patients in FinnGen. Snomed codes are T-snomed which specifies the location of biopsy and M-snomed the morphology. Together these make a pathological diagnosis. M-snomed and T-snomed codes have been harmonized. Different hospitals use different Snomed codes and all have been harmonized into official Snomed coding system.

Snomed data contains data from 5986 FinnGen participants and has 9 variables: 

`APPROX_DATE_SNOMED`: Approximate date of snomed (randomized +/- 1-15 days from the exact date)

`T_SNOMED_CODE`: T-SNOMED code in Snomed coding system

`T_SNOMED_NAME`: T-SNOMED name in Snomed coding system

`T_SNOMED_TEXT`: T-SNOMED free written diagnosis given by the pathologist, usually a combination of T and M Snomed codes

`M_SNOMED_CODE`: M-SNOMED code in Snomed coding system

`M_SNOMED_NAME`: M-SNOMED name in Snomed coding system

`M_SNOMED_TEXT`: M-SNOMED free written diagnosis given by the pathologist, usually a combination of T and M Snomed codes

`BIOBANK`: Biobank that sent the data
