# Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) Task Force

Chairs: Mark Daly (FinnGen), Jukka Koskela (FinnGen), Amy Hart (J\&J)

Secretary: Elisa Lahtela (FinnGen)

**Main scientific questions**

* Can we define the genetics of disease progression?
  * Create definitions of progression (also severity, remission, therapeutic response) using hard endpoints of surgery and hospitalization as well as disease behavior, quantitative clinical biomarkers (Fcal, CRP, …), medication switching, etc.
  * Perform GWAS and compare genetics of progression to the established genetics of incidence
* Can we use proteomics to define medication and progression signatures?
  * Using definitions defined in aim 1
  * Collect multiple time points at/before diagnosis and during disease progression

All Task Force related summary statistics can be found from: /finngen/library-green/task\_force/

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.finngen.fi/finngen-data-specifics/disease-specific-task-forces-and-interest-groups/inflammatory-bowel-disease-ibd-task-force.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
