### Description

[The Finnish National Vaccination Register](https://thl.fi/en/topics/infectious-diseases-and-vaccinations/surveillance-and-registers/finnish-national-vaccination-register-and-monitoring-of-the-vaccination-programme) collects nationwide data on vaccinations directly from patient record systems. It covers vaccinations given in public primary health care and has been available since 2011.

The FinnGen vaccination registry data contains information about:

* vaccination
* the type of vaccine
* which disease the vaccine is aimed to prevent
* method and site of injection
* approximate vaccination date
* vaccination age, and product number

In addition, since DF9, the COVID variable has been added to the data. It describes whether the vaccination is a COVID vaccination or some other vaccination. The COVID variable has been constructed by combining information from several variables from the vaccination registry.
