Description

FinnGen reproductive history data combines information from the Population Registry (DVV), since 1953 and the Medical Birth Register (THL) since 1987.

Information has been combined from two registries in order to obtain as complete information on births in FinnGen participants as possible.

FinnGen reproductive history data variables (sometimes also referred to internally as “birth data”).

Variables are from the Population Registry (DVV) data and from the Medical Birth Registry (THL) data.

NRO_FETUSES	Number of fetuses (1=singleton; 2=twin=second child was born within 30 days; 3=triplet=third child was born within 30days of the first; and so on)
CHILD_SEX	Child gender (2=girl, 1=boy, 3=unclear; gender is recorded as unclear if the sex of the child is not identifiable)

• Both 'Target group own births', and, 'Target groups mothers deliveries', were received from the medical birth register and included in the data
