# Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

FinnGen AMD data contains OCT images and visual acuity (VA) measurements for AMD patients in FinnGen. 

These clinical data are used in combination with genetic, medication, and proteomic datasets to identify markers predictive of progression and/or the speed of progression from intermediate AMD to late AMD.

Currently (September 2025) there are images for ca 800 patients in the Sandbox (2/6 hospital biobanks).
